Abstract:
This paper focused on studying the bacterial and fungal infections attacked the manuscript that dated back to 1251 AH at Al-Azhar library in Cairo, Egypt. Based on the partial 16S rRNA gene sequence, the isolated bacteria were Acinetobacter indicus and Exiguobacterium aurantiacum. Two fungal colonies which belonged to the genera Stachybotrys chartarum and Aspergillus flavus were also isolated. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of Acacia nilotica fruit showed that the extract at different concentrations exhibited considerable effect against the isolated bacteria and fungi.
